A group of young women pass by us giggling. She tells us how the women in the village all learn how to make clothing on New Year’s Day and then will spend a whole year making their gorgeous and intriquite outfits from scratch. She was surprised to hear that we in our own countries have many of the same challenges and joys as she does in her small village but definetly the customs are very different. She told us all sorts of incredible families about her family, her traditions, her beliefs. Our day was spent walking up and down the valleys, saying hi to the local women, many of who were carrying corn. She brings tourists to visit her local village, and we spent the whole day with her another couple of tourists from Australia. She is a Black Hmong woman who learnt English by speaking with tourists and has now become a guide. I hope its still there next time we go back.May was our fantastic guide for the day. It was nice because it wasn't crazy busy like all the places on the main strips and just around the corner from our hotel. I had a tuna wrap this time and it was good, my wife went with the chicken wrap again and enjoyed it a second time. The second time we went back we just got some wraps to go on our last day there to eat at the train station while we waited to leave. Staff was friendly and switched to english no problem for us. Everything was good and the prices were good. It was very good, we both had some chocolate covered toffee for dessert as well, (just like a skor chocolate bad). My wife had a chicken wrap which she said was really good and I had a chicken salad sandwich which was one of the best I have had, the bread it was served on was so fresh it was falling apart as I ate it, and the chicken salad had green onion, crasins, and celery in it. a nice little window alcove in a couple of arm chairs. There was a variety of seating from tables to arm chairs to sofas. They have coffee, tea, sandwiches, wraps, pastries, etc. We had lunch here one day and ate inside the restaurant.
